FAQ

  • Some basics
  • You are a project holder
  • You want to support a project
1- So what is crowdfunding ?
Crowdfunding is a way of financing ideas through a large amount of people. This method allows people or companies to fund their projects through public support: a large number of people donating small amounts adds up to fast and significant funding.
2- What is The Crowdfunders Club (TCC) ?
The Crowdfunders Club was born from the desire to help project developers make their big ideas come to life through crowdfunding; the platform belongs to World Web Marketing, based in London. In the long process of launching a project, you might only need a boost to your funding. That’s why World Web Marketing provides startups and project leaders access to The Crowdfunders Club! The Crowdfunders Club allows project developers to raise funds through the support of a community of international contributors who wish to invest in innovative ideas and creative startups! Project leaders can therefore leverage funds faster and easier than through traditional financing channels!

3- What kind of projects are on TCC ?
On The Crowdfunders Club you can submit or support innovative ideas in the New Technology sector : video games, applications, robotics, smart devices, software, wearable technology, etc.

To see all available projects, click here !

4- How does fundraising work ?
Once the project has been submitted, TCC validates its feasability, financial needs for project development and tracks its progress.

Once the project is accepted, it is published online and the countdown begins ! You will receive an e-mail notification when this happens.

The project leader defines the fundraising goal and duration (between 14 and 90 days) of their fundraising campaign in advance. This is the minimum amount to be met in order to launch the project.

It’s important to be realistic and transparent about the selection of a fundraising goal. If the project leader calculates his financial need at 100 000 €, then obviously this should be the minimum amount for their fundraising goal, otherwise the idea may fail due to insufficient financing.

5- What is all-or-nothing financing ?
TCC is based on an all-or-nothing funding; that is to say, in order to receive funds, the fundraising goal must be met or exceeded. If your goal is not met, contributors will be fully reimbursed. In addition, in this case reimbursement happens automatically: no procedure to request a refund required.
6- Where does TCC operate ?
The TCC website is available in English and French. Project proposals may come from all over the world, and we operate in several currencies: US dollars, Euros and Sterling Pounds.
7- Is it free to sign up ?
Membership in The Crowdfunders Club is free!

By signing up for TCC, you can consult and propose your very own project.

8- How is my personal data managed ?
To know more go on Privacy Policy page.

1- Are all projects accepted ?

With TCC, you can finance your project either wholly or partially. Any project can be submitted, provided that it is creative, innovative, adapted to a large market and in relation with the New Technology sector. You should be the owner of your intellectual property and have it protected.

To increase your chances of having your project accepted, make sure the information supporting it is as detailed as possible (budget, visual elements, your team, donation gifts, etc.)

TCC may request additional information from project leaders before their project is approved.

2- Who can submit a project?
Anyone, provided that they are 18 years of age or older !
3- Is my project idea protected ?
Your project remains confidential until the time of its publication on TCC. Outside of the core team who validates the project, absolutely no third party is privy to the details of your project.

Even if the project is not validated, it remains confidential.

Once the project is accepted and published to the TCC website, it is visible to the general public. We highly advise project leaders to take the necessary precautions related to patents, copyright, trademarks, etc.

4- How much does it cost to propose a project ?
Proposing projects is free on The Crowdfunders Club !

Once the project is validated and it meets (or exceeds) its fundraising goal, TCC receives 5% of commissions (plus tax for legal purposes) no matter the amount of sales. If the fundraising goal is not met, TCC does not charge any fee.

Funds are collected only by credit card (and soon PayPal). Transaction fees are deducted from the funds raised.

5- How do I decide my fundraising goal ?
To decide your fundraising goal, you should take into account the following factors: your finance needs for the project (including the cost of donation gifts to be sent to contributors for their support, as well as shipping costs), the 5% commission fee due to TCC, overhead and tax expenses.
6- Is there a fixed minimum or maximum fundraising goal ?
No.
7- Is there a fixed minimum or maximum fundraising campaign duration?
Between 2 weeks and 3 months.
8- Can I propose a project no matter what my nationality is ?
Yes.
9- What is a reward ?
For successful fundraising, rewards are very important!

Rewards can turn a simple page visitor into a contributor. For this reason, you should choose carefully. Offer something interesting, be original, play to your audience’s emotions! For example: it’s better to offer a t-shit autographed by the team than just a T -shirt! Feel free to mix it up : you can offer unique gifts in exchange for higher amounts. For example, “a video of my robot singing a song in your honor.” Attention: make sure your gifts don’t cost you too much money or are unachievable!

We recommend you set reward levels: ex. 5 € and above, 10 € and above, 20 € and above … there should be rewards for all types of contributors, those with both small and large budgets. You can also determine the available stock of each donation level’s gift.

For example, lets’ say you want to develop a drone: support for all € 10 donations will entitle members to receive an aerial photograph taken from the proposed drone. You can set a limit of 50 for this specific gift; once this number is reserved, then it will not be available. You decide!

A contributor may choose donation gift valued at less than the amount he gives, but not higher. For example, if the contributor gives € 200, they can choose the reward associated for donations of € 10 or more.

10- How do I follow along with my project’s progress ?
In your account space, under “My account”, you have access to all of your proposed projects, whether validated, in the validation process or post-fundraising.

Thanks to the modules under your projects, you can edit your project (i.e. update your team, post news, add a question/answer, view comments, and monitor contributions.

11- How do I promote the project and attract new contributors?
Once the project is accepted, you should make the promotion and raising of funds a top priority !

1/ Tell your network about your project: your friends, family, co-workers. These people will make up the foundations of your new community that will support and promote your project. Their support will come in several forms: financing, sharing on social media, or even words of encouragement on your project page. A positive environment around the project will help to ensure its success!

2/ Do you have your network’s financial and moral support? Ask them to share your project with their own network; you’ll see that the potential for growth is huge and your community will expand exponentially. It may only start with moral support, but the financing is sure to follow soon after!

3/ Wait until your project has progressed enough to proceed to the final step : expand the project’s promotion to people you do not know at all : use word-of -mouth, share your project on social networks, contact influential bloggers or media outlets that may have an interest in your project. Buzz attracts more buzz!

12- Can I modify my project once it’s been launched ?
